Established in 1932, the City of Berkley is 75 years young!
Nestled in Southeast Michigan, with all the charm and friendliness of a small town, Berkley is close enough to enjoy the benefits of downtown Detroit, yet cozy enough to feel at home. Berkley prides its self on preserving its heritage; May celebrates Berkley Days, August revs up for the Woodward Dream Cruise and December rings in the Berkley Christmas Parade and tree lighting ceremony. The city also plays host to an annual air fair, bike-a-thon and horseshoe tournaments throughout the year.
The City of Berkley finished remodeling and restoring their downtown area in 2002. Bricked crosswalks and friendly landscaping makes the area perfect for window-shoppers. The area has a terrific atmosphere and beautiful homes to match. Single-family units are the norm in Berkley, but other types of homes subside within the city limits.
