45 years after Oregon became a state, Frank and Josephine Redmond set up a homestead on the central Oregon site that would later bear their name. The city itself was incorporated in 1910. By 1920, Redmond’s population was almost 600, which didn’t stop William Wilson from ringing his bell every afternoon to call the town’s businessmen to lunch.
