Armagh is a small borough in Indiana County, Pennsylvania with a population of about 130 people. The name Armagh means “the field on a hill.” Located in the hills beneath the Allegheny Mountains, Indiana County is becoming a popular destination because of its natural beauty and the activities its towns have to offer. You can visit the Amish community in Smicksburg, get a taste of Hollywood at the Jimmy Stewart Museum, or play golf at one of the county’s five courses. There is always something for everyone. The county prospers with an economic base that combines education, agriculture, energy production and commerce. This provides an excellent quality of life for its nearly 90,000 residents. A unique fact about Indiana County is that it is the Christmas tree capital of the world. It is also a major national center for energy production and is home to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where more than 14,000 students study. Recreational activities abound with a major state park, five county parks and eight state game lands filled with wildlife.
