Nestled on Florida’s east coast between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, the flourishing city of Flagler Beach has grown from a sleepy fishing village to a unique seaside community while still retaining much of its original charm.
Flagler Beach is home to six miles of quiet, un-crowded beaches with unlimited access and no cars allowed on the beach, unlike many east coast Florida cities. Residents enjoy great fishing spots, including the Flagler Beach Municipal Pier, restaurants with ocean front dining, gift shops and a whole host of recreational facilities. The Intracoastal Waterway also flows through town, providing countless opportunities for boaters and fishermen.
Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation area is located in Flagler Beach. This 144-acre park offers picnicking, swimming, fishing and coastal camping, with 34 campsites directly overlooking the Atlantic. At night, from May through early September, endangered and threatened loggerhead, green and rare leatherback sea turtles crawl on the beach to nest and lay their eggs. A wide variety of bird life can be observed in the recreation area throughout the year.
