The small community of Lakeside Park, KY, established in 1930, boasts 530 acres and 14 subdivisions. Except for three business sites on Dixie Highway, Lakeside is primarily residential with five churches and a post office. It is also considered one of the garden spots in Northern Kentucky. Newcomers are drawn to the park-like setting and mirror-smooth lakes here. Homes range from elegant Victorians to brick houses, many built in the past 25 to 50 years. There is a Barleycorn’s here that is being renovated and will open in May 2008. (Barlerycorn’s is temporarily located at the Drawbridge Inn in Ft. Mitchell.) There are a few historic spots, including the Dry Creek Baptist Church on Buttermilk Pike, which was organized early in the 19th century, and now is a residence. Though long gone, there was a small Indian mound on Buttermilk Pike. Lakeside Park’s civic association awards its residents for property beautification. Excellent property values here are enhanced by the Lakeside’s close proximity to malls, downtown Cincinnati, hospitals and the airport.
