Carrboro, North Carolina is commonly referred to as the Paris of the Piedmont because of the number of artists and writers living there, and has always been known for its progressive way of living.  With walkable streets and a wonderful farmers' market, Carrboro still has that cozy town feeling.

Carrboro like many small towns in North Carolina began as a textile town.  It is named after Julian Carr, the last owner of the Alberta Cotton Mill and the man who gave the town electricity.  The mill is now refurbished and is the Carr Mill Mall.  One of the most architecturally interesting malls in America with wood floors, walls and ceilings it contains a number of interesting shops and galleries. 

There are numerous neighborhoods to choose from in Carrboro. There is a blend of housing from the mill homes that are now being refurbished to contemporary homes in new communities.  Sunset Creek, Brookfield, Bel Arbor and Cedars are just a few of the new developments in Carrboro, North Carolina.
