The upscale and thriving neighborhood of Montgomery, Ohio was settled in 1790. It boasts beautiful single- family homes, plenty of condos, townhouses and apartments. Montgomery has seven parks, 32 landmarks, a municipal swimming pool and a nature preserve. Residents are proud of the excellent Sycamore school system, one of the community’s attractive features. Its Arts Commission sponsors art-related events, including the ongoing Artist in the Park and a photography contest. The Old Montgomery business district, with its cobblestone walkways, includes specialty shops, three buildings on the National Register of Historic Places and dining that includes the original Montgomery Inn, famous for its barbecued ribs. A $70-million-plus mixed use development, with condos, retail and office space, is slated to open in 2008. Also Montgomery was the site of Homearama 2007 featuring the area’s most expensive homes, up to $2 million. Some 18 homes were showcased. Major employers here include Bethesda North Hospital, Sycamore School district: and Ohio National Financial Services.
