Nicknamed “The City of Hills, Trees, and Rivers,” West Linn, Oregon is a prosperous suburb just 12 miles south of Portland. Incorporated in 1913, West Linn is now home to 25,000 residents who are dedicated to preserving their close-knit community feel and the natural beauty that surrounds them.
Founded by War of 1812 veteran Major Robert Moore, West Linn lies across the Willamette River from Oregon City, the end of the Oregon Trail. The city was later named for a Missouri senator, Lewis Fields Linn, who advocated for the settling of the Oregon territory before the British could.
With two rivers—the Tualatin and the Willamette—forming its borders, West Linn residents enjoy many outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, and kayaking. Beautiful parks include the Camassia Natural Area, which is home to wetlands, forests, and diverse species of flora and fauna.
