Welcome to Bayou La Batre, Alabama

Bayou La Batre, Alabama is home to Alma Bryant High School with a winning Football team known as “The Hurricanes,” also referred to as the “Canes.” Other popular sports at this school include Golfing, Soccer, Archery, Softball, Tennis, Baseball, Volleyball and Basketball. The students and faculty have a great spirit to achieve a winning balance not only in sports but also in academics.

The seafood here is truly some of the best in the world including red shrimp, white shrimp, brown shrimp, oysters, red snapper, flounder, Spanish mackerel and so many more varieties. Come and enjoy some fish and grits at the many locally owned restaurants that serve fresh seafood from these coastal waters and you will see why Bayou La Batre is named the Seafood Capital of Alabama.
