Welcome to Bon Secour, Alabama

Nestled along the southeastern shore of Mobile Bay, in the inside coast of the Fort Morgan peninsula, is an unincorporated fishing community that dates back to the 17th century. Bon Secour — meaning “safe harbor” — may not be a familiar name, but its wild-caught gulf shrimp is enjoyed in restaurants and sold in retail outlets throughout the country.

Also found here are some of the oldest homes along the Alabama coast. Yet new gated communities are popping up along the waterways as more and more people discover the gorgeous scenery and wildlife. Imagine laughing at the playful dolphins as you enjoy a meal on your deck. To see even more, the waterways here will take you just about anywhere you want to go, including other states and even, with a large enough vessel, other countries.

Dine each day on your catch of bass, catfish, brim and more. If you prefer to let someone else bring it in, purchase fresh seafood at any of the many family-owned fisheries here. Or treat yourself to a work-free meal at a local restaurant supplied by your neighborhood fishermen with generations of experience.
