Dothan, AL is in Houston County and is the largest town in the Wiregrass region of Southeast Alabama. The citizens of Dothan have the best of both worlds, the feel of small town living with plenty of recreation, culture, shopping and dining. Dothan is centrally located between the Gulf Coast and larger cities such as Atlanta, Tallahassee and Mobile.

Dothan’s recreation facilities includes a Professional Tennis Complex, multiple ball parks through out the city, Water World, several golf courses, Dothan Botanical Gardens, Land mark Park, and many others that would please the entire family. Along with recreation Dothan also boast an Opera House, Museum of Art, Community Theater and a downtown area with an eclectic assortment of restaurants and shops. Many lakes, rivers and springs offer plenty of outdoor enjoyment as well.

Every spring Dothan holds the Azalea-Dogwood Trail, which is a marked route through the Garden District where visitors can experience the blooming of the Dogwoods and Azaleas. In the Fall The National Peanut Festival draws thousands of people from all over Southeast AL to celebrate the areas largest crop, peanuts.

There are eleven elementary, four middle, two high schools, one vocational school, one community college and one regional university in Dothan. Houston County has three K-12, three 7-12, two K-6 and a vocational school.
