About Mobile, Alabama

Mobile, Alabama is located at the head of Mobile Bay, 31 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Situated in the southwest portion of the state, it is the second largest metropolitan area, covering 2,828 square miles of Mobile and Baldwin counties. The dominant urban area is the City of Mobile, which includes 158 square miles of the 1,238 miles in Mobile County.

Already old when the Civil War began, Mobile was distinguished from younger cities throughout the State by her rich Spanish, French, African and Creole heritage. History is reflected not only in the architecture of Mobile, but in the food and enlightening diversity. Awarded an All American City, Mobile is a hub of development and activity.

Rooted in Southern tradition, the people of Mobile are committed to the ethics and values that make America great. While Mobile may be one of the oldest ports in America, we guarantee you'll enjoy new experiences at every turn! This mystical city is also home to the “original” Mardi Gras. Many residents in Mobile enjoy golfing, sightseeing, shopping, fresh and saltwater fishing, swimming, and even attending theatrical shows.

The charm of Mobile's historic areas attract many residents, while others choose the newer homes in West Mobile or the beautiful areas of the Eastern Shore on Mobile Bay. Wherever you choose to live in Mobile, Alabama, your opportunities are endless from architecture, to location, to a variety of pricing options.
