Culture, art, sports, and recreation are an important part of the River Region’s communities. The internationally acclaimed Alabama Shakespeare Festival at Blount Cultural Park presents an outstanding season of plays each year - Shakespeare, musicals, current drama, and comedy. An annual Sunday afternoon Art Trek with several galleries and exhibitions open for viewing is a popular activity.
