“The Sunshine of Baldwin County” began as a farming settlement in 1905, taking advantage of the L&N Railroad that transported agricultural goods to and from the area.
Folks here have proudly maintained the quaint ambience of days gone by, converting older, unused buildings into modern offices and storefronts. New brick sidewalks are being added to encourage a pedestrian-friendly mindset of residents and visitors. Modern buildings are of a low-key design to comfortably mesh with the surrounding structures and land. Recent additions of a library, children’s park, senior center and more contribute to the family atmosphere established more than a century ago.
With a central location between the white-sand beaches and I-10, the major east-west path through the southern United States, access to jobs and recreation is simple. But when you live in Summerdale, you always look forward to returning home.
