The capital of Arkansas, Little Rock is a metropolitan area with a population of 628,293 and more than a million people living within an hour's drive of downtown. Spring and fall are for the most part mild with the most severe temperatures taking place in late summer when days are hot and humid and during winter when temperatures occasionally drop into the teens.
