Ankeny is a highly progressive community located just north of Des Moines. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Iowa, known for top ranked schools, neat and clean neighborhoods and vibrant shopping, dining and recreational options.

Ankeny seems to always be building new schools and public buildings. Many large box stores and popular restaurant franchises have opened new locations in Ankeny and new developments offer a range of home styles from affordable single family & condos to executive townhomes and custom luxury show homes. There are many parks and trails in Ankeny as well as three golf courses. Saylorville Lake, a large recreational area & lake, is just outside of town.

The Ankeny Community School District is recognized as a top school district in Iowa, with above average test scores and percentage of students who go on to college. The list of athletic and extra curricular championships at the state level is impressive. Ankeny also has a K-12 Christian school and the main campus of Des Moines Area Community College.

Ankeny’s easy access to Des Moines means that many attractions are just minutes away. Some favorite attractions are the Blank Park Zoo, Science Center of Iowa, Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino, & Des Moines’ vivid downtown. Wells Fargo Arena hosts many national concerts and performances as well as the Barnstormers Arena Football & Iowa Stars Hockey teams, and I-Cubs Baseball and Iowa State University’s widely attended athletic events are all within 30 minutes.
