Atlanta Entertainment

In addition to the wonderful historic sites, art galleries, and museums to visit, Atlanta has plenty of entertainment and nightlife. On those days when you're looking to let loose and enjoy yourself, you have many options from which to choose.

For an upscale night on the town, Atlanta's Fox Theater fits the bill perfectly. Unlike newer contemporary theaters, the Fox Theater was once a grand movie palace of the 1920s. Today, the theater is still in operation and is home to big-name musical acts when they pass through town, such as R. Kelly, The Black Crowes, and David Gray. When bands aren't performing, musicals and plays often run, including Madame Butterfly and Little Women.

Almost as rich as its artistic culture is Atlanta's sports history. The town features many professional sports teams, including the Atlanta Falcons, Braves, Hawks, Thrashers, and the Silverbacks. Virtually every sport for every season is represented in Atlanta, and most have their own dedicated stadiums for their respective sports.

Atlanta also has an abundance of entertainment for children. The World of Coca-Cola is a museum of sorts for the ubiquitous soda brand, and features different Coke products from around the globe. Also, children are sure to enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, which is home to over 100,000 aquatic specimens in the facility's eight million gallons of water. Just outside of Atlanta, you will find a Six Flags theme park that offers fun for anyone, regardless of age.
