The Borough of Avalon, New Jersey, on Seven Mile Beach Island, is located approximately 10 minutes South of Atlantic City and just north of the Wildwoods. It shares its island with the Borough of Stone Harbor. "cooler by a mile" and "The Seashore At Its Best" are more than our slogans--it is a way of life. Avalon, New Jersey's unique geographic position--just one mile off the Jersey Coast--provides us with cooling ocean breezes. And once you spend time here, you will want to return again!


Our resort community offers everything for the perfect family vacation. We offer beautiful and pristine beaches for swimming and sun bathing, along with calm back bays for boating, kayaking, sailing, and fishing. Our recreational areas are situated throughout the island with playgrounds, tennis, baseball, basketball and soccer. Avalon, New Jersey's topography is ideal for biking, jogging, or walking, and our numerous restaurants are broad enough to please everyone's taste!


In addition to the above amenities, leisure activities include free beach concerts, sports camps, surfing tournaments and various arts & crafts shows. Even more attractions are available outside of Avalon but still within Cape May County. Among them are our free county park & zoo, several golf courses, the Wetlands Institute, historical museums and villages and the performing arts center.
