Bexley, Ohio Attractions

Over the years of its long and storied history, Bexley has been home to several prominent people, including presiding Ohio governors; Limited Brands founder, billionaire Leslie Wexner; Chicago columnist Bob Greene; and children's author R. L. Stine. Bexley has a distinct draw for people who are going places and those who have arrived.

It's no wonder this town has got it going on. Just three miles east of downtown Columbus and its Discovery District, residents here enjoy a myriad of exceptional educational facilities right in their figurative backyards. Here you'll find Capital University; the Columbus College of Art and Design; the Columbus Museum of Art; the Bar of Modern Art (BoMA) - combining artist lofts, a restaurant, bar, and art gallery; Columbus State Community College; Thurber house – former home of noted author James Thurber and now a literary center for writers and readers – and the Kelton House Museum and Garden; and that's just the beginning. There's Classical, French Chateau, and pre-civil War Greek Revival architecture, and numerous historic sites including a stop on the Underground Railroad. Love Indy films? The Drexel Theater also is right in your neighborhood!

In addition to its excellent public schools - where the high school has made a name for itself as state basketball, soccer, and tennis champions - Bexley has several outstanding private educational institutions including the Columbus School for Girls, Saint Charles Preparatory School, and Trinity Lutheran Seminary.

The Main Street business district has a pleasing mix of restaurants and specialty shops as well healthcare and other service providers so you're never far from anything you might need. There's even a large park and nationally-recognized topiary garden. Bexley also is known for its excellent city services, easy access to several major roads and highways, and its close proximity to the Columbus International Airport. Think you've got the picture? That's just a snapshot of life in this dynamic city. There's so much more to be lived and explored. Come and experience it for yourself. You'll never want to leave.
