About Dana Point, CA

Known for its beautiful beaches and one of Orange County’s few harbors, Dana Point, CA is a popular destination for local surfers, especially long boarders. Grab an ice cream by the harbor or visit one of its many surf shops, there is plenty of quaint local shopping with views of the many yachts and the Pacific. Dana Point harbor is known for its chartered whale watching tours, fishing expeditions and trips to Catalina Island. There’s a replica ship of Richard Henry Dana, Jr.’s ship, the Pilgrim. Dana Point was named after him. Richard Henry Dana fell in love with the area and claimed that it was one of the only romantic spots in California.

Most of the housing is built on a hill with panoramic views of the ocean. From condominiums to mansions that sit perched on top of beach cliffs, Dana Point is home to over 35,000 people. Housing costs range between $200,000 all the way up to $10 million. There are beautiful subdivisions with plenty of community parks, condominiums with low maintenance and beautiful views and gorgeous, lavish custom homes that sit behind gates with private beach access.

Dana Point is home to some of the best beaches in Southern California. Salt Creek, Strands, Capo Beach and the Dana Point Harbor are destinations for both locals and tourists. It does not matter what time of year, a stroll along these beaches is beautiful and relaxing. Expect a sea of beach umbrellas and kids frolicking in the water during the summertime. Dana Point is a vacation destination for people around the world.
