About Chula Vista, CA

Chula Vista, a great place to call home, with a population approaching 227,000, is San Diego County’s second largest city. The weather is mild in the 70’s nearly year- round with, plenty of open space to the east and undeveloped bayside waterfronts. Chula Vista is located several miles south of downtown San Diego, CA.

Chula Vista offers an abundance of attractions the like Cricket Wireless Amphitheater, The Olympic Training Center, and Knott’s Berry Farms Soak City Water Park. The Chula Vista Marina offers boat docks, parks, fishing pier and great restaurants to enjoy.

In 2007 the Otay Ranch Town Center was opened for business, the first major shopping and entertainment center to come to the San Diego metropolitan market in more than 20 years. The contemporary open air shopping center is lined with sidewalks shops and outdoor café’s in a pet friendly setting where your four legged friends are welcome.

The Chula Vista Nature Center is a coastal water scientific preserve and has obtained international recognition for its breeding programs, endangered species rescues (like the Clapper Rail) and educational programs. The Nature Center hosts an annual Bird Festival every December.

Since 1997 Eastlake-Chula Vista was voted “Best New Home Community” by the San Diego Union Tribune. The neighborhoods of Chula Vista include Bonita, Otay Ranch, Eastlake, Rancho Del Rey, Rolling Hills, Sunbow, Lomas Verdes and San Miguel Ranch as well as the Historic older Chula Vista. Home prices start as low as the $200’s and climb to exceed $1,000,000.

Chula Vista Elementary Schools were the honored recipients of the coveted “California Distinguished School” award. Four of the High Schools in Chula Vista were ranked among the top 1,500 public high schools nationwide, making the list in Newsweek magazine.

Chula Vista has been named one of the best places in the United States to raise a family; the Pacific Ocean is less than 10 minutes away and only one hour from the mountains.
