Living In Modesto, CA

The City of Modesto is a mid-sized, family-friendly city, centrally located in California’s San Joaquin Valley, with easy and convenient access to nature’s most breathtaking sights. The beautiful foothills and Sierra Nevada mountain range are located an hour’s drive to the East, perfect for camping and fishing in the Summer and skiing and snowboarding in the Winter. The Pacific Ocean is located an hour West providing Modesto’s citizens with the opportunity to experience the relaxation and majesty that is beach and ocean life.

In recent years, the City of Modesto has expanded its entertainment offerings by focusing on and revitalizing its downtown district. Modesto’s downtown is home to world-class dining experiences, an 18-screen cineplex, charming coffee shops, the historic State Theatre, boutiques, 19th century architecture and the brand new 2-stage, live theatre house: the Gallo Center for the Performing Arts. Shows and acts from across the United States and across the world, including shows from local art houses, grace the Gallo stage every season, offering families, couples and singles the opportunity to experience the rich culture that citizens from other communities would have to travel hours for.

In addition to a vibrant downtown life, Modesto is home to fabulous shopping opportunities. Modesto’s 1 million+ sq. ft., 2-level shopping mall, Vintage Faire Mall is located just off of Highway 99 and is home to over 130 shops including Macy’s, JCPenny, Forever 21 and Sears. Just adjacent to the mall is the 60,000 sq. ft. “lifestyle center” boasting high end retail shops such as: Bebe, Coach, Sephora and the Apple Store.

If you’re looking to expand your horizons and your mind, Modesto Junior College, one of the top-rated junior colleges in the State of California and the United States offers associate degrees in a wide variety of academic studies. Located just 15 minutes south of Modesto is Stanislaus State University, a widely respected California State college with bachelors and masters degree programs.
