Welcome to Fountain Valley, CA

The city of Fountain Valley is located in California’s famous Orange County, approximately 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles. Now a suburban residential community, Fountain Valley surprisingly had its beginnings in acres of muddy swampland, and its late 19th century settlers fondly referred to the area as “Gospel Swamps.” In order to make the land more suitable for farming, these pioneers constructed drainage canals and subsequently developed a thriving agricultural industry that would prevail in Fountain Valley until the 1960’s. The city incorporated in 1957 with the winds of change at its back; farmers moved from field crops to “truck crops,” landowners began selling to developers, and Fountain Valley shifted into a fast-growing yet well-planned suburb of L.A.

Today Fountain Valley boasts a population of over 57,000 people, and its residents enjoy an abundance of job opportunities, great education, city amenities and exciting attractions within Orange County, California. Due to the city’s convenient location near the major business and commercial centers of the Los Angeles Metro Area, Fountain Valley residents have unlimited career possibilities, and Fountain Valley itself is home to the national headquarters of Hyundai Motor Company, D-Link Corporation, Kingston Technologies, and Surefire, LLC. Fountain Valley is the location of Coastline Community College, but residents have a wide selection of institutions to choose from in the area, including California State University-Fullerton, the University of California-Irvine, and the Art Institute of California-Orange County, all within 13 miles of the city. For younger students, Fountain Valley is serviced by the Fountain Valley School District with eight elementary schools and three middle schools, plus three high schools and a variety of private schools.
