Attractions in Fountain Valley, CAIn addition to its many career and educational opportunities, Fountain Valley also offers exciting attractions and recreation for the whole family. There are 18 parks located within the city, perfect for enjoying California’s abundance of sunshine year round. Fountain Valley’s Mile Square Regional Park is the star of the community, boasting 640 acres with two lakes, three 18-hole golf courses, recreation centers and sporting facilities, a senior center, and a 20-acre nature area. For beach lovers, California’s gorgeous coastline is just minutes away, offering beaches for swimming and surfing, or just sunning in the sand. The Crystal Cove State Park, located near Newport Beach, has 3.2 miles of sandy beaches, plus 2,400 acres of wooded area for hiking and horseback riding. Aside from outdoor recreation, Fountain Valley residents also have great access to theater and the arts at many regional venues, including the Irvine Barclay Theatre, the Orange County Performing Arts Center, and the South Coast Repertory Theater. Other major Fountain Valley and Orange County attractions are the South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island—two of OC’s major shopping centers—as well as Disneyland in Anaheim and Knott’s Berry Farm theme park in nearby Buena Park, CA.
