The unincorporated area of Greenbrae, California is the home of Frank Howard Allen Real Estate's award winning "flagship office". Greenbrae is located in the middle of desirable Marin County and borders Larkspur to the south, Larkspur Landing to the east, Kentfield and Ross to the west and San Rafael to the north, just off highway 101 it is a natural opening to the Ross Valley. Proceeding north, Marin and Greenbrae are less than an hour's drive from California's famed Sonoma and Napa vineyards. A mere 15 minute commute to the Golden Gate Bridge makes this a model community.
The community was initially dubbed "Kentmore" and 635 acres of farmland was purchased in 1946 from the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Special care was taken to preserve the natural beauty of the hills, views of the San Francisco Bay, the Corte Madera Creek as well as views of Mt. Tamalpais. In the 1940's the father/son Schultz team had a rare vision with an emphasis on saving trees, unique architectural designs, generous setbacks and a neighborhood incorporating landscaped medians and open areas. Greenbrae is primarily residential but the Schultz's left a tract for the development of Marin General Hospital and what is now, Bon Air Shopping Center. Greenbrae is a much desired address due to it's award winning schools and close knit community mentality. The Larkspur Landing Ferry terminal is a 3 minute drive and is used by both locals and tourists alike to access San Francisco with comfort and ease. Greenbrae has the perfect "small town" feel with all the "big city" amenities! It was home to U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer and the location for the final scenes from the famed "Dirty Harry" film in 1971!
