Piedmont, California is one of the more expensive areas in California but for many, the price is worth it. Properties for sale in Piedmont are markedly more expensive than real estate in neighboring communities. Back in the 1920s it was known as the “City of Millionaires” and many of the mansions built back then still stand and remain as residences for many. But the towns' members aren't isolated from one another. Public parks and a community center remain in great use for many of Piedmont's residents.
Aside from the cultural and economic benefits of being right near Oakland, Berkley and San Francisco, Piedmont itself has some of the best schools in the state including an alternative high school. Education is very important to the citizens and many voters will often vote in favor of the educational system of the city.
