Pomona, California

Noted as home of one of the top public universities of the state (Cal Poly), Pomona is a large city on the eastern border of Los Angeles County. Efforts are being made to revitalize Pomona's downtown, which has a civic court complex and many stores. Just north of downtown is a neighborhood of bungalows and large, old homes. West of highway 71, in the Phillips Ranch neighborhood, the housing becomes newer and moves into middle-class professional as the streets rise into hills. Students attend schools in the Pomona Unified School District.
