Redondo Beach, California is an ocean city with around 55,000 residents. This city has two miles of sandy beaches (South Redondo) for swimming, in-line skating, biking, surfing, tanning and walking as multi-color sunsets create magnificent views. Redondo Beach is a resort destination, with all types of accommodations and attractions, and it's an enjoyable and safe place to live and visit.
Once a commercial port, Redondo Beach now has a pleasure pier with unique shops and restaurants, marinas, and a sport fishing fleet. There's a charming seafront walkway, which has been called one of the most romantic sunset-watching places in the world. You can also view whales, sea lions and dolphins off shore.
Although there is no formal “downtown” here, retail pockets such as the South Bay Galleria, anchored by Nordstrom on the east, and boutiques in Hollywood Rivera on the west, offer ample shopping opportunities. With 15 parks (including a huge dog park), a marina, senior center, performing arts center, movie multiplex and brand new library...Redondo Beach has a lot to offer both visitors and residents. Commuters travel 18 miles to Downtown Los Angeles and 8 miles to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Redondo Beach is also conveniently located close to the Long Beach and L.A. Harbors and business centers of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
Many original homes still stand in Redondo Beach, California, but these small style homes are being purchased, demolished and rebuilt to match the tastes of the modern, more affluent buyer that makes South Bay their home. Inland areas are likely to have single-family homes for sale, with rooftop living spaces and beautiful decks.
