Welcome to Aurora, CO

Aurora today is Colorado’s third largest city with over 260,000 residents. It once was a budding frontier town of farmers and ranchers just east of the state’s capital. At 144 square miles, the city reaches into Arapahoe, Adams and Douglas counties; 85% of its residents live in Arapahoe County. It’s served by 5 public school districts.

Aurora’s strategic comprehensive plan emphasizes the formation of livable, full-service neighborhoods. The city has housing for all income levels from starter homes to luxury residences. New planned mixed-use developments are being built around the city with townhomes, condominiums and apartments close to retail and commercial as well as new housing neighborhoods with many recreational amenities. The former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center is being transformed into the metro area’s premier academic health campus for the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center with housing, retail and commercial surrounding it.

Prairie, majestic views of the mountains and ample neighborhood parks make Aurora neighborhoods the ideal place to call home. The city is home to 80 parks, 7 public golf courses, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, and miles of bicycle paths and trails. There are three public reservoirs with boating, sailing, fishing, swimming, cycling and picnicking offered.

Just minutes away from Denver International Airport, Aurora is home to a vibrant business environment. Visit www.auroragov.org for more information about Aurora, CO.
