Ranked as Colorado’s safest city, Centennial is also one of the safest cities in the nation. A vibrant community that offers the benefits of city living and the pleasure of suburban and semi-rural life in beautiful and well-kept neighborhoods, Centennial is one of Colorado’s newest cities, founded in 2001. The city is located entirely within Arapahoe County.
Served by 3 light rail stations, and easily accessible to the I-25 corridor, Centennial is only 30 minutes from the heart of downtown Denver. Centennial is served by the Cherry Creek and Littleton school districts and is home to its own airport. Centennial Airport is used regularly by a variety of very important flights, such as Flight for Life, various medical flights, and Law Enforcement among others. The airport also offers support for a number of flight schools, flying clubs, air charter services, aircraft sales services and aircraft maintenance services, as well as being an important hub for commerce and trade. The economic impact of the airport to the local community is estimated at nearly $1 billion annually.
Centennial is adjacent to the cities and towns of Aurora, Englewood, Foxfield, Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch (unincorporated Douglas County), Littleton, Lone Tree, and Parker. Its large geographic area – over 28 square miles – makes it ideal for new town developments such as The Streets of Southglenn. This 77-acre mixed use residential and commercial park is located off of C-470 west of the I-25 within 10 miles of Denver.
