Welcome to Greeley, CO

Greeley, Colorado is one of the few remaining communities that offers the convenience and culture of a large city with the friendliness and hospitality of a small town. It is a place for living a life of balance between work and play, a place that offers growth, celebrates community with an easy charm and has wonderful proximity to the greatest recreation venues in the state. With rich prairie to the East and the Rocky Mountains to the West, this is a city of unlikely combinations that compliment each other beautifully.

Greeley is a thriving part of the Front Range, boasting diverse business and industrial opportunities, a high quality of life wrapped in a low cost of living, and a tight-knit community that prepares for the future while preserving a hometown atmosphere.

Home to the University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College, multiple nationally renowned programs in higher education are centered in Greeley. The community benefits from the skilled workforce as well as enriched entertainment offered through UNC sports and performing arts programs. Author James Michener attended UNC, originally named Colorado State College, and found the great inspiration for the best selling “Centennial” during his stay in Greeley.

Greeley is the county seat of Weld County, the largest county in the state. Weld County consists of 3,999 square miles full of renewable energy, agriculture and food processing, oil and gas extraction, business services, a variety of manufacturing and beautiful communities to call home. All of this occurs in a county that is larger than the state of Rhode Island at 1,214 square miles and nearly as large as Connecticut at 5,009 square miles.

Greeley/Weld have been ranked on Forbes’ list of 200 Best Places for Business and Careers (jumping 20 spots on the list from 2008) and on Forbes’ annual list of Where to Live Cheaply. Money Magazine has also taken note of the northern Colorado opportunities by placing Weld County on their 2008 list of top 25 counties in the nation for job growth in the past eight years. Inc.com named this metropolitan region on their annual list of best US cities for doing business. Greeley is also recognized as one of the top 8 places to retire. Residents could not agree more with these experts, as they experience it daily.

Great from the ground up, Greeley is a vital community; part of a thriving region where the residents value conversation and interaction. This is the key to business growth and quality of life. The demand for this region stems from the residents that invite you into their neighborhoods to experience the good life. Welcome home.
