Welcome to Bethel, CT

“If I shoot at the sun I may hit a star,” and that star is Bethel, CT. P.T. Barnum, Bethel's most infamous historical circus figure couldn't have coined it better. Bethel's charming Main Street and side streets will draw you in for a lifetime of good living. As the pressure of urbanization squeezes against the fabric of the town, Bethel still brings a sense of family among all who have set roots in the area by supporting its in town local owned shops & businesses enthusiastically. Capture the great dawn of awakening by attending one of the 1950's drive-in car hops on a warm summer night at the Sycamore Restaurant. Catch a new indie film at the Bethel theatre and don't forget to visit any one of the many family owned businesses along the route. From chocolate to salad, fresh baked bread to ice cream, antiques to clothes, everything is mostly locally owned and made. Many businesses success can be attributed to that old American adage – work hard and be the best.

Visiting a physician or the veterinarian can be as easy as a walk across the street. If you need to get away for the weekend or a day, the train stop right in town will whisk you off to the coastline or Manhattan in about 90 minutes or points west.

Bethel maintains over 400 acres of parks and open land that complements the town setting. Public parks come complete with BMX trails and extensive various youth based sports fields. Maintaining its roots to farming, the local 4-H organization is quite strong with varied activities and the State still maintains an agricultural center in the midst of suburban development on Route 6 which hosts a reliably popular Farmer's Market.

The local public school system has been honored with its ability to work as a team to foster a competitive learning environment and give students a clear understanding that their educational progress is important.
