Welcome to Southbury, CT

Southbury, Connecticut is a rural town located on the fringe of New Haven County, bordering Fairfield County on the western corner and Litchfield County to the North. Southbury has been one of the fastest growing communities in the state of Connecticut over the past decade, and is closely located to large commercial and business centers. Southbury is only a short distance from New York City and Boston.

Heritage Village, one of the first age restricted condominium complexes in Connecticut, calls Southbury home. The village is the largest retirement community in the state with 2,000 units. The community sits on one thousand acres and offers over 100 activities for its residents. With great health care and an easy approach to retirement living, it is no wonder why over 4,000 people call Heritage Village home.

Take note of the Historic Main Street and experience what life would have been like in Southbury in the early 1700's. This road features some of New England's greatest constructions, and showcases the fine architecture of the town's first homes. Also on Main Street is a historical school house, built in 1689, that is now used as a learning tool for young children to experience what a typical nineteenth century school day would have been like.

Top employers of Southbury include Mediplex of Southbury, IBM and the Southbury Crowne Plaza Hotel. The Southbury school system is part of Regional School District 15, which also includes the Town of Middlebury.
