Toms River is home to some of the most beautiful properties that overlook the river and the Barnegat Bay. Barnegat Bay has been and still is noted for producing some of the best small-boat sailors in the country. Toms River has numerous yacht clubs along its shores – yacht clubs which have conducted sailing programs for children for many decades. Consequently, sailors at regattas might range in age from eight to eighty! Sport fishing is also popular with easy access to the Barnegat Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. And within minutes you are on the beaches of the beautiful Jersey Shore.

Toms River, formerly Dover Township, is also home to the County Seat of Ocean, located in the Atlantic Coastal Plain in central New Jersey. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the many activities associated with the numerous parks and waterways, including Cattus Island County Park, almost 500 acres with miles of trails and beautiful views, including the new butterfly garden. We also are home to the Toms River Little League, winners of the 1998 Little League World Series.
