Cape Coral, Florida - a Growing Community

It was the vision of two land speculators that brought Cape Coral to life almost 40 years ago. Cape Coral, located between Sarasota and Marco Island, is a large peninsula bordered by the Caloosahatchee River to the east and Matlacha Pass to the west. The Rosen brothers believed that the Cape's Gulf coast location and opportunities for waterfront living would easily attract people to its shores. Once the brothers platted the community and created more than 400 miles of canals, they began a marketing campaign that resulted in the sale of nearly all 350,000 residential building sites. With 115 square miles, Cape Coral is Florida's second largest city in land mass. Today Cape Coral is a growing community with residential homes being built every day and businesses flourishing along its corridors. It offers easy access to downtown Fort Myers via multiple bridges and is close to Sanibel and Captiva islands. But it is Cape Coral's sense of community and its active lifestyle that continue to fuel its growth.
