Welcome to Chesterfield, Virginia

Chesterfield, V.A., is a city dedicated to preserving and promoting its past, but also keeping up with their future. Bordered by the James and Appomattox rivers, Chesterfield is home to tons of historical landmarks and character. The city is also host to several Civil War Sites, Dutch Gap Conservation Area and a convenient county airport.

Although the city does preserve its past, it also offers many modern amenities. Chesterfield Towne Center is a shopping mall that features 140 stores, restaurants and other services. A central location of this mall gives residents easy access to almost every need. Virginia Beach, Blue Ridge Parkway and Washington, D.C., are only a short less-than two hours away from most points of the city.

The city of Chesterfield is named for and located in Chesterfield County. This county has wonderful neighborhoods and activities that have been attracting visitors since 1611! In 1883, three women in Chesterfield discovered a way to celebrate the men in their life, and created “Father’s Day.”

This Richmond suburb of Chesterfield is a beautiful place that retains its historic charm. The city is well located and within commuting distance to Richmond.
