Welcome to Clayton, OhioThe City of Clayton was formed in 1998 by combining the Village of Clayton and Randolph Township, to control future growth and development, stabilize boundaries, provide quality services and insure financial stability of the community. The city is managed by a Council-Manager form of government. Located just 17 miles northwest of Dayton, Ohio, Clayton enjoys all the amenities of the metropolitan area including shopping, entertainment and higher education.
With a population of just over 13,000, the community is served by the Northmont City Schools that include seven elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Miami Valley Career Technology is located in Clayton and serves the vocational needs of area students.
In close proximity to the town center, the Englewood MetroPark area provides walking trails, picnicking, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, bicycling and winter recreation. Group camping is also available for environmental education objectives, permits are required.
