About Concord, California

Concord, California is a city of nearly 125,000 residents and is only a half hour away from San Francisco. For generations, Concord was a quiet, residential community and it has just recently undergone changes due to companies such as Texaco setting up their banking operations here and bringing changes to the local economy. This, along with the heavy population, has led to the building of lots of commercial areas throughout the city with more popular stores rather than tinier, smaller businesses one might find in other Californian towns. Concord attractions include the Port Chicago Naval Magazine National Memorial, popular local restaurants, and a water park. Another popular location is the majestic Mount Diablo and the Mt. Diablo State Park. Concord is also home to one of the Cal State campuses and the De La Salle High School football team which once had a legendary 151 game winning streak.
