Coral Springs, FL: Eye Toward the Future
The nostalgic Covered Bridge – the first structure built in Coral Springs is reminiscent of a simpler, less hurried time – and when set against the backdrop of a resurging modern business center it says it all. Coral Springs is a city with an eye on the future that protects and cherishes a high quality of life associated by yesteryear.
Family-oriented, master-planned, and chartered in 1963, Coral Springs recently became the first local government in the nation to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for 2007. It is a city that consistently places in Money Magazines top 50 best cities to live.
As you would expect, Coral Springs has parks and recreation facilities numbering over 50, so there are plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. There is a Sportsplex with an Olympic size pool, many diverse athletic fields, and even a dog park.
A family event since 1979, the annual “Our Town” Festival spans several days and helps to raise money for nonprofit organizations in the tri-county area. The festival includes live entertainment, amusements, arts and crafts, merchant booths, classic car show, games and the traditional Miss “Our Town” America Beauty Pageant.
While many residents live and work in Coral Springs, this well-located community in northwest Broward County, is an easy commute to Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Palm Beach County via the Sawgrass Expressway and major interstate highways.
