The mild climate of Wilmington, an average summer temperature of 76 degrees and average winter temperature of 33 degrees with reasonable snowfall in January, February and March, makes the area perfect for an abundance of outdoor activities. With far too many historical and cultural attractions to mention, the most popular are Fort Christina, Old Town Hall, and the Holy Trinity Church (also known as the Old Swedes Church) which is the oldest Protestant church in the United States and registered as a national historic landmark. The Wilmington area is serviced by four school districts for primary and secondary education and is home to a number of universities and colleges including Wilmington College, University of Delaware – Wilmington, Delaware College of Art and Design and Springfield College.
