Welcome to Dearborn, Michigan

Dearborn is the tenth largest city in Michigan with nearly 95,000 people. It is located in the Detroit metropolitan area and Wayne County with the River Rouge running through it. The city is the hometown of Henry Ford and the site of Henry Ford Community College, a University of Michigan campus, Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, and Henry Ford Health System.

Dearborn boasts about an outstanding elementary and secondary education system. Nearly one-in-five Dearborn Public School juniors and seniors earn college credits through a dual enrollment program with Henry Ford Community College and the University of Michigan-Dearborn. For five years in a row, Dearborn Public Schools' district was named one of the top 100 communities in the nation for music education.

Home styles are predominantly bungalows, multi-family and two-story homes. Dearborn offers city neighborhoods with “walk to everything” convenience and subdivisions with tree lined streets. In 2006, Dearborn was named a "Tree City USA" for the 19th consecutive year. Other reasons homeowners chose Dearborn as their home city are its central location in southeast Michigan, great housing values, and its full range of amenities and services.

In addition to a regional shopping center, Dearborn has not one, but two traditional downtown districts, alive with shops, restaurants, and nightclubs. Redevelopment is bringing full time residents into the business districts, offering urban townhouses only a few steps away from coffee shops and outdoor plazas.
