Welcome to Decatur, AL

Decatur has more to offer than just “Southern Hospitality and Charm;” we have an abundance of recreation for the entire family, such as Point Mallard Aquatic Park and a year round ice skating rink. If you or your children play ball, you’ll find some of the best softball, baseball and soccer fields around. Or you may be a golfer. If so, you will love our beautifully manicured golf courses at Point Mallard, Indian Hills, Burningtree Country Club, and Decatur Country Club.

When you visit downtown Decatur, you’ll fall in love with the unique and charming shops and all the old architecture. If you’re an antique collector, you must stroll down Bank Street and visit all the shops full of antiques and collectibles.

In our downtown area you will find one of our treasured landmarks, the old “Princess Theater,” which has been beautifully restored to its finest grandeur. The Theater hosts many events such as concerts, play, movies, and well known speakers.

If you are looking for tranquility and beauty, you will not want to miss “Delano Park.” It is covered with the most breathtaking flowers you can imagine. There are walkways to stroll through the gardens and benches to sit and enjoy the view.
