The City of DeLand, Florida

DeLand is the county seat and center of governmental activity in Volusia. This comfortable, oak-shaded city offers an enviable quality of life and southern charm. Residents have plenty of opportunities to enjoy their beautiful city, with a revitalized downtown district that includes antique shops, restaurants and cafes, historic homes and buildings.

The city is home to Skydive DeLand, a world recognized leader in parachuting. The Central Florida Hot Air Balloon Rally and the winter home of the Clyde Beatty-Cole Brothers Circus are here. Festivals, a sports complex, Hontoon Island State Park and the St. Johns River provide great outdoor fun, from houseboat rentals to bass fishing.

The DeLand Museum of Art attracts international visitors, while the DeLand Cultural Arts Center hosts symphonic and theatrical events throughout the year. Stetson University, the state's oldest private university, enriches the community with concerts, galleries, theatrical and sporting events.

Homes along the water, acreage and horse ranches, particularly in the Glenwood area, are popular choices.
