Things To Do In Duluth Georgia

Even though Duluth is less than 10 square miles in size, the city packs in a great deal of attractions and must-see destinations. In fact, the spots most tourists in the area would want to visit are actually places Duluth residents haunt on a regular basis.

At first thought, a farmer's market wouldn't make most peoples' "to do" lists when visiting a city, but Harry's Farmers Market in Duluth is quite distinctive. It's more of an upscale supermarket of sorts, home to a variety of foods many of us have likely never seen nor heard of, let alone ever tasted. Residents shop at the store for its vast selection of goods, but guests will want to visit for Harry's regionally famous cheesecake.

In terms of Duluth nightlife, one of the most popular options for drinks and entertainment is Wild Bill's. Unlike the Southern bars and saloons of yesteryear, Wild Bill's is an upscale nightclub with a distinctly country twist. Silhouettes of cowboys grace the club's garishly colored walls, while big-name acts like Bill Gentry and Charlie Daniels play on stage. Drinks are offered up by the club's Wild Girls, the denim-and-chaps-clad servers of food and beer.

For family-friendly fare, the Southeastern Railway Museum and the Duluth Children's Museum are both fun and educational ways to spend an afternoon. If sporting events are of interest to you, Duluth is home to a 27-hole, Greg Norman-designed golf course. When winter hits, hockey is the sport of choice at the Gwinnett Center, where fans cheer on the ECHL team, the Gwinnett Gladiators.
