City Of Dunwoody

The city of Dunwoody, located in the north-central part of Georgia, combines the best of a big city with the best of small town living, and the wonder of rural beauty with the fun of urban activities. In short, Dunwoody has a little of something for everyone.

Dunwoody is located just 15 miles from Atlanta, making a commute both brief and easy. Dunwoody is a city of just over 30,000 people, so it's never too crowded and a community atmosphere is always fostered. The city maintains a focus on education, and as expected, the public school system is excellent. In addition, there are many colleges and universities located nearby as well as several world-class healthcare facilities, including the Emory Dunwoody Medical Center and the Northside Hospital in Atlanta.

The weather in Dunwoody is, like the rest of the state, temperate. While there are four distinct seasons, the typical winter temperature is a relatively average 34° F. The summers are warm and pleasant, just what you'd expect in Georgia. This delightful weather allows residents to enjoy outdoor recreation throughout much of the year. From the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area to the Dunwoody Nature Center, this corner of Georgia offers outdoor fun for all types.

Dunwoody manages to combine several high-rises near the Perimeter Mall and the natural splendor of Dunwoody Park, which features both woodlands and wetlands, as well as picnic areas for the family. On the whole, Dunwoody is an ideal place to raise a family, with plenty of entertainment, employment, educational, and cultural opportunities for all.
