Welcome to Durham, NC

Durham, once known as the tobacco capital, now carries the title of the City of Medicine. Situated in the center of the Triangle area of North Carolina, it is home to Duke University, Duke University Medical Center and North Carolina Central University. Also contributing to the City of Medicine moniker is the multitude of bio-tech research/development and other health care related companies which call Research Triangle Park home.

The downtown district, which was once home to tobacco companies, has begun undergoing the largest historic restoration/renovation project in the State. This area, known as the American Tobacco Campus sits alongside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and recently opened, state of the art, Durham Performing Arts Center, which is the largest performing arts venue in the Southeast United States. This downtown area has seen significant growth with businesses, restaurants and condos springing up seemingly overnight.
