A new high school and new middle school facilities along with superior academic ratings and programs are the crown jewels for family considerations. The campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is located here offering pre-law and pre-med curriculums. Edwardsville is the county seat for Madison County and has a vibrant downtown area of locally owned shops and restaurants. There is a full service hospital with abundant general and specialty services available with ties to the nationally acclaimed Jewish/Barnes Hospital Complex. The Edwardsville Area is a composition of the communities of Troy, Maryville, and Glen Carbon which offer an enhanced selection of home styles and prices. Interstate 70 provides easy access to St. Louis to make all of these communities a prime consideration for commuting to the Metropolitan St. Louis area. Interstate 270, 70 and 55 intersect here to make this a very accessible place to live. Three Championship Golf courses including Sunset Hills Country Club, offer a variety of playing levels for the golfing family. Fairmont Race Park is located South and West of Edwardsville which provides horse and surrey racing amusement.
