Living in Davie, Florida

A city of contrasts: from the “down home country” atmosphere of downtown to the estates with wide expanses of land in the Western section of the city. There are actually hitching posts in front of the stores on the main street!!! And the Florida State Champion Rodeo is one event you won’t want to miss; you can attend every year!

Homes near downtown are moderately priced, and the estates mentioned above are well worth the price, in the $1 million category. Homes with an acre or more of land are very rare in South Florida, and considered a real luxury!

But, it doesn’t end there. Broward Community College, Florida Atlantic University, and Nova Southeastern University (with its law school AND medical school) claim Davie as home. The medical school also offers community health care from its facility—a bonus to all! The public schools and parochial schools within this city claim high ratings as well.

A suburb of Fort Lauderdale, Davie offers not only its own flavor, but that of a major city with all of its benefits—Theater, beaches, incomparable shopping, and easy commute to Miami opening up all kinds of opportunities for employment. And just minutes from the Seminole Hard Rock complex –again for shopping, gambling, dining, and Broadway style entertainment.

Check out Davie if you are considering South Florida and don’t want a “cookie cutter” town!
