The city of Daytona Beach, Florida offers the beach, shopping, dining, nightlife, attractions and cultural finds. Aside from the gorgeous beaches, visitors to the area have a multitude of activities to choose from ranging from area restaurants, golf courses, greyhound racing, museums, and the famous Daytona Speedway for race fans. Vacationers have been flocking to the Daytona area since the 1800s when wealthy northern tycoons found the land to be a valuable investment. In the 1900s, entrepreneurs shaped the city to be a place of commerce and a community center was built. Built by Commodore Charles Burgoyne, the community center offered concerts along the riverfront and promoted town’s events to travelers.
