The City of Montverde, Florida

According to tradition, this town was originally named “Monte Verde,” Spanish for green mountain. Lying on the west shore of Lake Apopka, the city is home to Montverde Academy, which dates from 1912. Its 125 acres host students from around the world. Montverde has a small-town, rural character for those who seek an easier pace of living.
